Sarah Jane Beck, MD

Community Children’s

Originally from rural northwest Missouri Dr. Beck decided in high school to pursue medicine. She attended a 6 year combined undergraduate and medical doctorate program at the University of Missouri in Kansas City. Keeping with the combined programs, she did her residency at LSU in New Orleans in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. Physicians who train in Internal Medicine-Pediatrics (“Med-Peds”) residency programs are able to practice as either an internist, pediatrician or both and are eligible for sub-speciality training or board certifications in either fields. Dr. Beck works both as an adult hospitalist and pediatric hospitalist at Community Medical Center, splitting time between the two.
Her professional interests include LGBTQ healthcare, adolescent health, childhood obesity and transition of care from pediatric to adult healthcare.
