The Certified Pediatric Nurse credential is the gold standard for the pediatric specialty. Jackie joins 25,000 nurses that hold their CPN certification nationally. With the addition of Jackie, Community Children’s is proud to announce that 70 percent of our Pediatric Inpatient Unit nursing staff have achieved their certification. “I wanted to get my certification to show my commitment and love for pediatrics,” said Jackie. “Being certified in my unit has been a professional goal of mine since I started as a nurse.” Jackie’s pursuit of professional development will also take her to Seattle next month to become APHON Certified, one of four nurses at Community Children’s. This Pediatric Chemotherapy and Biotherapy Provider program will allow Jackie to care for children and adolescents receiving chemotherapy or biotherapy in our outpatient Pediatric Infusion Therapy department.
